The High Point of Pepasner's Career
Pepasner's writing is not without its foibles or it's sort of, you know, he has his hobby horses. He has a certain pitch he wants to make about Englishness but he always does it in this very restrained and dry way whereas with Nan, the Nan mode bleeds in.
