The people of the shang dynasty were using chariots in warfare too. Could chariot tree have been invented in china as well as the near east? We cannot be completely sure, but it has also been suggested that the first chariots were introduced from the urasian step. Many of the infantry are likely to have been armed with bronze axe heads hafted on to wooden handles. Shang warriors used daggers as swords would not be favoured in chinese lands until after the shang we do see the creation of more ornate and precious objects for the elite.
