Mianmar and the Totmada

The rohinga ethnic group have been persecuted by buddhist nationals since the 19 seventies. The government claims they are illegal immigrants from bangladesh, and thus unable to vote. According to human rights watch, the carter center estimates that one point four million citizens couldn't vote. Ong san su chi's national league for democracy won a resounding victory in an election widely seen as fraudulent. But not everyone was reconciled to the change. Within 24 hours of the coup, the people of mianmar had fought back.
