Introduction

The Pyramids are the most amazing thing to modern humans about ancient times. They were used as tombs for the ancient Egyptian pharaohs. The first ones predated the Pyramids and were often made of mud bricks. Mastabas didn't stop being produced in a late rage of pyramids but they were built for certain members of the nobility only. There appears to be a definite desire to preserve the body for as long as possible.
