The Religious Instinct Is the Ultimate Extension of Our Capacity to Posit an Ideal

We have this built-in capacity to posit a higher self and then move towards it. If you can do that, instantly you've got a religious sensibility - but how much meaning is there in moving forward towards an ultimate ideal? That's the open question. I'm going to make a small or talk about this idea of abetting them to be better because it's really about potential. It's something like music which speaks of bursting forward... why it's so deeply meaningful  and it just doesn't make sense at all.
