Gossip and Offense

Gossip is a foul misuse of our ability to bring life. The greater my need to be right, the greater my bent towards gossip and offense. What would happen in mainstream media if the whisperer stopped talking? It's an interesting series of verses in Proverbs 26. For lack of wood, the fire goes out. That makes sense. And where there is no whisperer, whether there is no Whisperer, contention quiets down.
