What Is the History of Slavery?

The first time enslaved African people were sold in New England was in 1638. In 1646, it was just beginning it becomes the official policy in New England. Massachusetts was the first colony to set up the first legal precedent around slavery in the English North American colonies and that precedent was adopted in a document known as the body of liberties in 1641.
