40 out of 46 American presidents have been clothed by Brooks Brothers. Since Brooks Brothers has been in business, only two presidents have not worn Brooks suits. In a nation full of strangers, homogenous, good quality, mass-produced clothes became the closest approximation to a sense of national unity. It's always been a powerful symbol that American presidents wore readily available mass- produced clothes.
