The Denatured Language of Mythology
Merlin says archetype is depleted language. I think the awful thing is when you start to name the gods as archetypes, you've immediately sort of thinned them into facsimiles. You know, this is desperately dangerous, foolish terrain to start sticking everybody in the same cauldron. So my soul can't receive it because it doesn't know what it's looking at. It's an abstraction for me. But it does have use and I can immediately make associations with it.
