This week we revisit book one meditation one to read what is defined in other places as book one meditation three. Marcus's mother D'Amicia all but raised him and I think the lessons from her are some of the most important that he learns throughout his young life. We'll get more in sync as we go along through the book with Merrick Casabon who structures meditations differently than George Long or Gregory Hayes.

So today we’ll revisit Book 1 Meditation 1 to read what is defined in other places as book 1 meditation 3. Here’s that segment:

"Of my mother I have learned to be religious, and bountiful; and to forbear, not only to do, but to intend any evil; to content myself with a spare diet, and to fly all such excess as is incidental to great wealth."
