The Role of Race and Ethnicity in Diabetes Rates

Dagojak: There is no evidence that there are differences in the incidence of prediabetes associated with race or ethnic backgrounds. The general pattern has been that individuals from African-American background or Hispanic, like Asian or Native American background, diagnosed more frequently at a high rate with type two diabetes than individuals who are white. Dagojak says screening recommendation should be applied universally to adults so that we can capture cases and intervene promptly.
