The Dangers of the Emancipation Movement
The situation in Congo which is impazed partly by the Congolese themselves on their own people is catastrophic. The fact that there isn't the strength of civic government to as it were run this as a respectable beneficial industry, say that the local population are mining these resources, see benefit, I think it's a great tragedy. If you maybe go back to some of the real injustices of slavery, but bear in mind that the Emancipation Movement in the UK started in the 1840s that the British Navy was deployed globally to abolish slavery. It's a very complex historical issue and to make judgments on the basis of how we view the world now I think is very dangerous.
