The Stigma and the Prejudice of the Roma

Roma people could offer all of these special services that might not be easily available in a small village or small town, they had a certain advantage to offer. But at the same time there was also prejudice and stigma against them. And if there were sometimes some roma who might want to assimilate or intermarry or blend n to the wider society, they were rejected. This stigma against roma could sometimes be so strong that it would even thwart state efforts to force the r Roma to assimilate.
