Lawyer is a kind of a catchball category and something of a metaphor. Oftentimes, a person in that position will be committed to the idea that they have. They'll strongly believe that they know the truth. But with a position about reality already in mind, they're reaching for ways to justify that. It's not that a lawyer has no interest in the truth.
