Design Systems Designers - Is There Something Better?

Designers often create too few variants where they encounter some new UI you're trying to create. You kind of want to create like a little like a walled garden,. Like a luxury prison, right? It's like, well, you can't leave. These are the only size you get to use. But it's future proof enough that like, what else do you need? We have everything you could possibly need in here. Why would you want to leave? That's one world you end up in. The other is probably more like Apple where you've created so many variants to account for every kind of UI you're Trying to create. And so there you've failed as well.
