The Optimistic Way to Fill Out the Drake Equation
There's an optimistic way to fill out the Drake equation, which estimates how many communicable civilizations are there in our galaxy. Another reason to think that way is that in astrobiology, there's this concept of the habitability zone. There's a more pessimistic way which has always been that if civilizations were to arise like us, they would be like us and wipe themselves out pretty quickly. We think that UFOs or UAPs, intercepts and interpret a desire for something else, for somewhere else.
