In the last few years, india has become not just the world's biggest importer of weapons, but they've also been russia's biggest foreign buyer of weaponry. So now roughly 50 % of india's arms imports come from russia. That includes things like submarines, tanks, fighterg aircraft and sophisticated sufface to air missiles. Over the last decade or so,india has been trying to diversify its arm supplies. Been buying a bit more from the united states as relations with washington have improved,. But it's also been buying a lot more from france, from israel, because it doen't want to become too dependent on the united states either.
