The Story of Halmut and Hannah Schmidt
Halmut was born in poland to a highly religious menonite family. His mother set him up with hannah schmidt, three years his junior. Hannah's family emigrated to canada after the war, first settling in niagara region. They bonded over their shared experiences in war time europe as well as their move to canada and their strong religious beliefs. Soon they became inseparable, and helmut proposed - she thought things were moving too fast.
