The Importance of Timing in Buying a House

It certainly depends on the timing. We bought our first house in 2004, I think 2003, 2004 and sold it 10 years later for the same price. Now here we are aggressively paying the house off with a low rate and a 15 year term. It's appreciated by roughly double in the last 12 years or 10 years. And so now now we have this huge dip for these two opposite experiences of the same process.
