Is There Multiple Timelines?

In the early teens or mid teens, Nintendo released this art book called the Hyrule Compendium. And lo and behold, what was in it was the official Zelda timeline. The real answer is that they made the games they wanted to make as the years and decades rolled by where they weren't concerned with continuity so much.
