The Strange Game of England

It was a strange game given all the short-pitched bowling. Why did batters of both sides find it so difficult to play on that surface? I think because it was just a bit too paced, a bit, you know, variables in bounce slightly, particularly as the ball got older. So, yeah, it wasn't easy and there wasn't a great deal on offer when you were pitching the ball up. The ball seemed to just go away and it was easy to get runs, I suppose.
