The Dissonance of Being White

I had this like dissonance when I was growing up in the US and I didn't. And I grew up in a very white community too, where I was just sort of like, Oh, my body will never look like that because I'm not white. When I came back to New York there were so many people from different backgrounds and so many people who looked different and like different body types and everything. That was a positive wake-up call for me. But now I'm seeing all this other stuff about challenging all the progress I've made for myself personally. It's really something.
