Can We Control the Supply of Handguns?

Unlicensed people most of the time are using for instance handguns from the United States to commit crimes. They're either being smuggled by third parties or professional smugglers who make their money getting stuff across the border. It's really hard to secure such a massive land border against the flow of illegal firearms, especially since firearms smugglers. So why are Canadians, especially young men, if you look at the statistics and especially young men from marginalized communities, picking up a gun in the first place? And I think this is where we need to target our intervention on this policy issue.
