How to Represent Numbers in Computers Using Zeros and Ones

To represent numbers in a computer, we're going to use zeros and ones. These are represented as voltages - the ma tude of the voltage indicates whether it's a zero or whether it's one. Negative numbers can be represented in a variety of different form. The two's complement method is what most computers use for negative numbers. It involves taking whatever positive value there is from each binary representation of that number; so if it's  one, it might be f1. And then adding one tozero goes ti one – which means 'f3' If you add all those up, 32 and eight, two and one, that's forty three.
