The Environmental Constraint in Soccer

All the tournaments were on real beaches from Santa Cruz to the north to Ocean Beach in San Diego. But it meant that you were playing on the same courts that were getting hours and hours of use every day during the week, which meant they got dug out. You had to be very precise with your passing and setting because hitting four feet off, there was no point in anybody being a blocker on that surface. If it's flat, you probably have to still block on Phil Dollhauser when he's 11 feet off the net. And it was a totally different environmental constraint. But I think it was a really good one.
