The damage that's inflicted both to your finances, to your physical and mental health can happen during the process. There's actual, you know, when you're living in poverty, there's this mental fog that comes into your mind. And somehow academia has decided that it's a good idea to inflict that fog on their trainees at the time when they're supposed to be doing this fabulous academic work. It's baffling to me that we do this to our trainees, to our young.
