The Importance of Writing

When you can recover writing and decipher it, well, now you are, it's basically the archaeological dream. And for that kind of depth, it's hard to find any substitute for writing. There are so many more pieces of writing and tablets and records than we would normally think. In one city alone, a place called Napur in Western Asia, they found 30,000 tablets just in that city.
