The Architecture of Pisyshridis

Most of his building monuments were made out of wood, so they did not last the Persian wars. For instance, he built the first small treasury-style buildings, called Weicamata. Two shrines were also built on the west side of the Agora in honor of Zeus and Apollo. But the most ambitious project of all by Pisyshridis was the erection of a temple to Olympian Zeus,. This was the largest temple to be attempted in Greece up to the time; it was only finished seven centuries later by the Roman Emperor Hadrian.
