Nuclear Power Plants in the U.S.

The Biden administration is offering $1.2 billion in aid to extend the life of what they call distressed nuclear power plants. In California, Pacific Gas and Electric Company has received an exemption to request to continue operations at its Diablo Canyon Power Plant beyond its current license. A former utility executive who gave rosy projections on the progress of two nuclear power plants in South Carolina will spend 15 months in prison for the doomed project.
