The Coats in This Story

The coats in this story sure make a lot of appearances. Why does god keep hanging with these slisy jakovs and josephs? I suggested in the jacob's story it was because of the huzba. Is that why god continues to hang on here? But i do know that god has perspective that we're going to see by the time this story is up.
