Barbara Millicent Roberts has been a force in retail and media for more than six decades. She donned an astronaut suit four years before Neil Armstrong ever went to the moon. In the late 1950s, Mattel co-founder Ruth Handler said she got her inspiration from watching her daughter play with paper dolls.
