Is Time Well Expended a Good Idea?

In an ideal world, the thing that each app would be measuring would align with what people actually want. I think without any sense of personal hypocrisy, I think they feel that if you're using their app more, that's good for you. When time on the app is intrinsically good, why not try to get people's attention any way you can?
