The Power of Serendipity
Ranger: I always had a real belief in serendipity that you'd go out and you'd stumble across some great stories. The West has very important still unsolved issues like water, the global warming issue hadn't really raised its head at that point but it's going to be very critical out there. All of these issues, I ultimately ended up writing along the long series, spent being a year, a year and a half of one subject and exploring them really in great depth. It was a extraordinary opportunity.
