Theosis Is Not Just a Deification or Divinization
I would say one of the things that we taught in my church growing up was a strong emphasis on human glorification right. The Eastern Orthodox are sort of you know it's not just unique Eastern Orthodoxy but like God comes down and sort of divinizes humanity so that we can move up into it. I remember talking with my childhood pastor one time after I'd learned about theosis and these sorts of things from other circles. He said oh yeah yeah that yeah that's fine we agree with that right. It sort of affirmed my intuition that once I the first time I heard the word my go.
