Futhark is an array language. It has a very different approach from what I consider like the spawn of Iverson kind of languages, like apl, jk, bqn. And it's much more looks like Haskell than apl. You mentioned like GPUs. They like to do SIMD type things. So if you could structure data in a SIMD way, then it'll run fast on modern hardware.
