Aquinas 101 - Course 2: Introduction to Thomistic Philosophy

CHAPTER

God Is Good

We think our positive descriptions are always ultimately onlyng descriptions. If you say god is good, all you mean is you think god is not evil. But it doesn't in involve you actually knowing anything positively and affrirmly about what god is. So we don't say that god's wise or good in himself. What we're saying is, god causes a world that's good. God causes a world in which iis creatures to have wisdom. And the same in like manner, applies to others, as was taught by rabbi moses.
