I think it's totally okay to start with dummy projects. It's totally okay for your first two projects just to be almost exact replicas of something that's online. And I think there's more unique projects online than you might realize. You could download your own LinkedIn data and do some pretty cool things with it. But even on my YouTube, I have 30 plus project guides on my YouTube. Like one of them, I used data science to order a McDonald's, the most optimized McDonald's meal.
