Afghanistan in the Nineties
I was there basting in islamabatb going in and out of afghanistan all through the first alaban period. I think one does as have to recognize tha talaban themselves have evolvedand to me, that was really striking. You know, i have in my mind carbled in the 19 nineties, it was like a urban desert. The people were barely out and about. But what you see now is an evolved tallaman. They are taking selfes. And quite the extent to which what that evolution is, what it means, how far it goes, how much it helps, i think we'll have to see as time goes by.
