How to Make Changes to an Open Source Programming Language
It's really, really hard to make changes to sort of a proper open source programming language. In the context of Jane Street, on the other hand, it's not dead easy. There's work involved, but it is tractable and somewhat easy in that we can develop an idea,. push it out there, get other programmers in the firm to start using it. And then as that happens, we can say, hmm, this isn't quite working out the way that we thought it would.
