"We felt like we needed to provide this experience. It's not like they'd even asked for it." "It's so crazy that we would be distracted by other shiny objects and activities," he says of parents who try to cram too many things into their children's lives. "'I can't put so many books on my wall' is the kind of thing you say, but I know what you're talking about,' his wife tells him. 'You have more discipline about it than me.'"
