The Tory Strategy Has Changed and They Need to Change With It
I think his primary filter in answering is what will the Daily Mail headline look like when I say X? But he needs to realize that the Conservative strategy has changed and he needs to change with it. The question in people's mind should be not policy detail, but how would they spend a tenner on the country - this is where Labour is strong. They are constantly made to show too much of their hand, giving their opponents the chance to either discredit policy A or steal policy B. It is still more than a year before the election possibly. They need to take a step back and go back to talking about values.
