Is There a Need for Higher Education?

I don't think education is a way of solving inequality. We've just had one of the reasons why a brain drain. I mean, one of the, this has real political consequences. Young people leave and they gather in certain university towns where they tend to elect Labour MPs. So it's, you know, there's no straight connection between educating people to produce social goods,. greater equality, problem solving. It's always complicated. There are always unintended effects. But we live in a political nation now, which is completely shaped by it. And actually we're more divided than we were.
