The Power of Religion

I think the power of other people and cultures are so powerful that sometimes you have to walk away from them for a really long time to be able to find yourself again. Stephen Mitchell is one of my favorite like spiritual poets and translators of our time. And he talks about how he, as a young boy, found himself really infatuated with this nun. He said, I had not yet learned to understand radiance. When we see radiance, it pulls us. It will pull us up mountains with broken ankles. We will just keep going. That's what Roe was talking about at the very beginning of the episode.
