Jevons's Consistency
In contrast with mill's emphasis on learning and remaking, there's no evidence to indicate that jevans believed that people are motivated to find ways to improve themselves. So the policy maker has warrant to reduce ignorance. Wicksteed's approach is consistent with that of mill and riso and whitman. Like them, wicksteed finds no reason to insist that subjects have consistent preferences.
