The Target Letter to Donald Trump Defends the United States
The target letter outlined two charges that we many of us expected can spear see to defraud the United States and obstructing an official proceeding. What was more surprising to us non lawyers was a reconstruction era statute on the deprivation of rights. It really does describe what Donald Trump did, which is that he conspired with others to deprive people of their civil rights. In particular, what he was doing with his henchmen was saying to state legislatures. Hey, there's vote fraud here.
