The Uncompetitive Democracy of Singapore

Singapore has one party rule, but the democracy is kind of rigged to make sure the incumbent stand power. There's a tremendous amount of back and forth between people that work in the government and people in corporations filling each other's pockets. Yet you guys have a really good GDP. It's a very clean place. The crime is low. Um, and the standard of living is very high. How the hell is this work? Why is this working? Why hasn't this gone off the rails?
