Photographs of black revolt are beautiful and do need to be circulated, but maybe in a very particular context. In doing all this, i turn to la roel, because i think he has a really elegant way of stating it. He's not interested photography actually as a practice, you know. And so the non photograph then suddenly is like his opportunity to think about other ways in which a photograph can do the sort of light writing.
