The Four Step Framework for Survey Methodology

The Australian government has, now has official Australian government policy is male, female or other. But it just goes to show there's very few questions where there are only exactly the sort of answers. And I find that four step framework is a very powerful way of looking at questions in general. It comes out of the world of survey methodology and shows how the two fields can be used for the inform each other really.
