The Importance of Furniture in Novels
I love novels where people are allowed to get excited about stuff. That's my favourite twist in literature. Anthony Poehler is brilliant on that as well. I always get a bit of a pole vibe from Anita Bruckner who I adore but that sense of things being a little claustrophobic and a little overheated. When furniture is just slightly too big for a room and when something is you know well done and comfortable and you can sort of relax into it. Both I think novelists who make me want to kind of open a window and I can smell a bit of stale gravy somewhere - Brosmond Lame.
