The Tension Between Performance and Film

Indiana is about the performative nature of what it means to sort of be an artist and the tension between like performing for theater versus performing for film. The actors are just in the room doing the dialogue the way that they're doing in a play, right? We're not just cutting and we're not using the 97th take of this thing. However many takes you've done, it doesn't matter. Every single person that's there is as present as they would have been in a theater sort of type performance space.
